Rechargeable hearing aid options have become more readily available with a promise of ease and convenience for consumers. Recent innovations have allowed for hassle free use and a charge that lasts all day, without giving up on other important features. All of the six major hearing aid manufacturers now have rechargeable hearing aid options. While the rechargeable aids only come in the behind-the-ear style for now, they can accommodate most individuals and their hearing losses. Some manufacturers offer lithium ion systems, with the battery enclosed and sealed in the hearing aid. This allows for a highly moisture-resistant device. Others offer a silver zinc battery that goes into a specially developed battery compartment within the aid. The hearing aids, whether lithium ion or silver zinc, are put on a simple charger each night. Talk more with your audiologist to find out which option may be right for you.
