Dr. Stacey Samuels Cole

Clinical Audiologist

Dr. Stacey Samuels Cole is a clinical audiologist at our Ellicott City, MD hearing and balance center. Dr. Cole currently holds Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees in Pharmacology and Rehabilitation Science from Xavier University of Louisiana and Louisiana State University Medical Center, respectively. She earned a Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees from Pepperdine University in Rehabilitation Science with a concentration in geriatric clinical health issues. Dr. Cole also earned a Master of Arts (MA) and Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. 

Dr. Cole currently holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed in the state of Maryland. Dr. Cole is also certified by the American Institute of Balance for Vestibular and Concussion Assessment and Rehabilitation.  Her professional memberships include: Fellow of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology; The American Board of Audiology; the American Speech and Hearing Language Association (ASHA); the International Hearing Society (IHS); and the American Academy of Audiology (Fellow-AAA). In 2015, Dr. Cole was appointed by Governor Larrry Hogan to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Board of Examiners for Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers,  Speech-Language Pathologists, and Music Therapist  where she served as member/Chairwoman until 2023. Dr. Cole’s dissertation focused on the impact of cognition (working memory) and hearing loss on speech perception in the geriatric population, for which she was awarded the 2014 Student Mentored American Auditory Society Award.

Dr. Cole is dedicated to providing her patients excellent hearing and balance healthcare and maintains cutting-edge knowledge of auditory and vestibular methodology. Her areas of expertise include audiological rehabilitation (i.e. hearing aids/amplification systems), cognition (working memory) and speech perception, and vestibular/balance testing and rehabilitation. It is important to her that each patient is educated on his or her hearing and balance status and applies this information to determine the best course of individualized treatment. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Cole lives with her husband and daughter, Camille, in Ellicott City, Maryland. She enjoys white-water rafting, traveling, furniture restoration, and most of all, gardening.
