Hear from our Audiologists

  • Imbalance/Vertigo Support Group

    Hello All!

Just wanted to remind everyone that the next imbalance/vertigo support group will be held on Wednesday February 1st at 9:30am.  If you have any questions please email me at info@berkshearing.com, or call 610 404-8025.  Looking forward to another great meeting!

  • Happy New Year!

Well, the new year is upon us and what a great start.  We hosted our second imbalance and vertigo support group on January 4, which was well attended. It continues to be a great resource for those dealing with or family and friends of those who have suffered from vertigo, falls and general imbalance.  It still amazes me how “dizziness” can affect people so differently, yet common themes often emerge. It is also a great venue for sharing ideas on management and coping strategies. Please join us on Wednesday February 1st at 9:30 for the next meeting.

On another note, I am happy to announce that The Twin Valley High School music department has been “adopted!” I have been speaking with director Daniel Long for some time, and just finished a presentation to the students regarding noise induced hearing loss and how to properly protect their ears.  What a great group of students!  All were very receptive, and I can not wait to return when their ETY earplugs arrive. One of my goals for 2012 is to ”adopt” atleast half of Berks County’s music programs.

Next week we will be performing hearing screenings at The Heritage in Green Hills

  • October is Audiology Awareness Month

Did you know that hearing loss is one of the top 3 health concerns in older adults? Recent studies show that untreated hearing loss increases a persons risk for depression, anxiety and dementia. Yet fewer than 25% of people with hearing loss seek treatment.  Do yourself or your loved one a favor and set up an appointment today with one of our Doctors of Audiology.

Did you know that over 200,00 falls occur yearly in the United States adult population?  A study at Vanderbilt University found that close to 70% of all elderly patients seen for falls risk assessment had undiagnosed inner ear disorders.  Berks Hearing Professionals also evaluates and treats balance disorders.

  • We Have Moved to Birdsboro!
